Membership Benefits
Members will be entitled to two kinds of benefits. “Core benefits” are for every one that joins and registers for the Wildlife Clubs of Uganda and “Outstanding Member benefits” that will only be received by clubs whose programmes really stand out.
Core benefits include:
• The Wildlife Clubs Handbook, which has suggestions on starting a group, planning activities and incorporating the programme into your classroom, organizations, family and community.
• Different educational materials to supplement the knowledge component of Wildlife Clubs.
• The Wildlife Clubs Newsletter that enables clubs to share ideas and information.
• Free Entry to National Parks.
• Visits to your schools with the Mobile Film unit of WCU.
• Automatic invitations to Clubs seminars and events.
• Experience a sense of achievement through successfully completing activities
• Individuals experience a sense of self worth and develop self-respect, confidence and hope for the future.
• Certificates of Membership will be given to all Wildlife Clubs that have formed and proven themselves to be active in their local area.
Outstanding member benefits (Each of these benefits are provided based on current and previous performance as a group at the discretion of the WCU Secretariat.)
• A Wildlife Clubs Active Group Certificate* for very active clubs.
• A Wildlife Clubs Certificate of Recognition** for outstanding clubs, signed by the National Co-ordinator and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, for reporting the progress of activities that address each of the Clubs themes.
• A Certificate of Individual Achievement*** for outstanding individuals
• Individual active members gift
*Active Group Certificate
Allocation of this Certificate will be to those clubs that are unable to carry out long term service activities due to circumstances but have managed to complete a wide range of smaller activities
**Certificate of Individual Achievement
This certificate is given to outstanding active members of the group. These individuals will be identified by the group leaders. In the case of the leaders, Wildlife Clubs of Uganda will issue individual certificates to those leaders who have produced outstanding results from their clubs. This will be determined by reviewing the activity reports.
***Certificate of Recognition
To receive a Certificate of Recognition, you must:
• Submit at least three activity reports, with at least one being a series of progressive report, updated at least 3 times a year, covering the long term nature activities.
• Plan and implement nature activities that cover all three Wildlife Clubs themes, with at least one being a long term activity that runs for the whole year.
This could mean one of two things:-
EITHER: Planning at least three different activities a year. Each activity needs to address a different theme to cover all three themes (the environment, wildlife and the human community), with at least one being a long term service activity.
OR: Planning one or two larger activities that cover more than one of the major themes, with at least one being a long term activity. Some clubs focus on a one year-long activity that addresses all three themes. Allocation of Certificates The allocation of certificates shall be publicized in the Wildlife Clubs Newsletter. |
